Two female Namibian entrepreneurs have been selected to exhibit their products and participate at the 3rd Zambia Entrepreneurship Summit (ZES 2019 ) in Lusaka, Zambia. The ZES, will be held in collaboration with the WECREATE Zambia Centre, the American Chamber of Commerce, Atlas Mara, and Hivos Southern Africa. Under the theme “Entrepreneurship and Innovation: The Future Now, Leaving No One Behind” the summit aims to connect entrepreneurs with investors, entrepreneurship resources, empowerment networks and encourage business expansion. The two lucky entrepreneurs participation is facilitated by the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) and SAIS 2 in order to contribute to the strengthening of the regional innovation ecosystem for entrepreneurship. Their participation will see the two connecting with investors, networking with other entrepreneurs from the region and accessing opportunities for expanding their businesses in the region.
As an organisation NCRST has the mandate of promoting linkages between Namibia and international institutions and bodies on the development of research, science and technology. Maria Shikukutu founder of NT Okawa Trading will exhibit her pearl millet fermented powder energy drink, high in nutritional value, which she been distributed to a steady stream of clients as a meal replacement drink called Oshikundu. Accompanying Maria is Ndahekelekwa Paulus, the charismatic founder of Fluffy Mallows which is a Namibian marshmallow manufacturing business that specializes in producing handcrafted marshmallows which have developed the reputation of being insanely delicious, smooth and become very popular amongst marshmallow lovers. The marshmallows are currently available in five flavours and are available for purchase at local grocery store in Windhoek.
